Train at Home Resources
Tips for Training at home
- Use a stable barre of some type that allows you to work on your left and right sides. You can hold onto a sturdy chair, countertop, or stair rail.
- Take class on a non-slip surface. If you have a slippery floor at home, you can spray a bit of water onto the bottom your shoes to gain some friction.
Carpet is fine for barre work and small jumps, not for turns. - Use a thin yoga mat for small jumps on hard floors.
- Make sure you have plenty of leg room, ideally at least a 3ft space around your feet and in the space from your head to the ceiling.
- Wear your ballet shoes. Don’t lose the feel of your feet in them.
- Please keep yourself safe. No jumping on tile or hard surfaces and no turns on carpet or slippery surfaces.
